The third estimate reports Q2 growth of 2.2%, compared with 1.5% in the advance estimate. The September 30 annual update revised Q1 to 2.5%; its advance estimate was 2.0%.

The annualized transformation is 100 × ((real GDP this quarter / real GDP preceding quarter)^4 − 1). BEA uses chain-type quantity measures. Advance, second and third estimates incorporate progressively fuller inputs; annual updates can revise earlier quarters. Published rounded rates should not be used to reconstruct unrounded levels.
